The Jamaica Kingsmen have booked their place in the Caribbean Premier League 2026 final after defeating the Guyana Amazon Warriors by five wickets in a thrilling Qualifier 2 at Kensington Oval, Barbados, on September 18.
Guyana Amazon Warriors posted an imposing 206/4 from 20 overs, putting Jamaica under significant pressure in the chase. However, the Kingsmen produced an outstanding batting performance to reach 207/5 in 19.4 overs, winning with just two balls remaining.
The result sets up a blockbuster final between Jamaica Kingsmen and Antigua & Barbuda Falcons. The Falcons had already secured their final spot after dismantling the Warriors for just 76 in Qualifier 1, before chasing the target in only 5.2 overs.
Jamaica complete a remarkable comeback
Jamaica’s successful chase was built around aggressive middle- and lower-order hitting. Rovman Powell smashed 40 from just 17 balls, helping keep the required run rate under control during the tense closing stages.
The Kingsmen’s victory is particularly significant because they entered the playoffs through the Eliminator. They first defeated the Barbados Tridents by nine wickets, then followed that result with another successful chase against Guyana to reach the championship match.
